About the Conference

Conference Overview

XYBOOM Intergenerational Conference is a one-day event held on May 28th, and the theme is “From Workplace Tension to Intergenerational Collaboration”. Participants will walk away with strategies on how to position themselves in the evolving workplace from leading employers and experts who will be sharing insights and innovative strategies on the challenges and opportunities different generations are facing today.

Meet like-minded individuals who are facing similar issues entering the workplace and employers currently seeking solutions. We have curated a list of case study topics with the intent of addressing some of the most pressing and pertinent generational issues including the career trajectories/decisions of each generation in the workplace today. Live Case Study titles include Career Planning, Intergenerational Networking, Non-Profit Sector Attracting and Retaining Youth, An Entrepreneurial Career and more.

Panelist members include innovators and change makers like Carol Chiang Partner at KPMG, James Palmer, VP Marketing & Sales at Great Little Box Co. (recently highlighted in Globe and Mail), Val Litwin VP of Franchise Operations for Nurse Next Door, and more.

What’s New for 2013?

This year will have a more intimate audience as we’ve decided to lower our registration cap to 175 attendees, almost half as much as last year. We’ve also decided to focus strongly on unique and practical takeaways for employers and employees from all generations so that they can bring something substantial back to their workplaces. However, of all the changes we’ll be making, the largest change to this year’s conference is the inclusion of the “Live Case Studies: Stories Beyond the Water Cooler”. These conversations will touch on the various topics that each generation faces, including topics under recruitment, retaining, succession planning and transitioning.
